Greater Harris County 9-1-1 Offers Reminder During Freezing Weather Conditions

Greater Harris County 9-1-1 Emergency Network (GHC 9-1-1) reminds residents that during this time—before, during and following the winter weather—it is important not to overload the phone systems at the emergency call centers with non-emergency calls. Remember to call 9-1-1 only for emergency assistance: police, fire or medical emergency services.

Monitor news reports on television, radio, social media or other sources for information about road closures or accidents due to ice—DO NOT call 9-1-1 to inquire.

GHC 9-1- 1 is communicating with each of the 9-1-1 call centers within Harris and Fort Bend Counties to ensure them that the operations staff is available to assist their department with restoring communication services, if needed.

GHC 9-1-1 is responsible for administering 9-1-1 services for 49 cities and two counties: Harris and Fort Bend or more information visit: www.911.org or Facebook:
